Iranian documentary ‘Poets of Life’ has been awarded at the 14th edition of the Green Film Festival in Seoul (GFFIS) in South Korea.

Directed by Shirin Barghnavard, ‘Poets of Life’ has won the Special Jury Award at this year's run of the event held May 18-24, 2017.

The 73-minute doc was screened at the Green Competition section of the Korean event with English subtitles in two sessions on May 20 and 24.

‘Poets of Life’ is about an Iranian woman eagerly returning to Iran to work as a rice farmer after receiving a BA in French Literature from the University of Paris. Her family promotes sustainable farming and refrains from using chemicals and fertilizers.

The film portrays the efforts on the part of the lady to bring about social and environmental change.

Green Film Festival in Seoul is the first and biggest film festival in Korea focusing on environmental issues.

Established in 2004 by Korea Green Foundation, GFFIS is a festival that seeks to share the hope for a better world where all the lives can live in harmony with environment and nature.

Through cinema, the festival hopes to promote ideas of environmental protection and life respect to encourage public awareness and action for positive changes.
